Episode: tests
Monday, August 3, 2009

I never liked tests. I had my Labview lab test today, I did not study but I depend greatly on how much I pay attention in class.

Why I do not like tests? Firstly, it is because you have to go home and spend hours on it to study. I never liked studying because it makes you pursuit good grades just to justify the hours spent on studying. Grading is never a good way to signify how much a person have spent hours to study or put effort in it.

After you get your test results, you tend to compare with the rest of your classmates. The ones who get high marks would boldly go around the class to compare with the rest, to boost his or her self esteem and destroy those who fail or get low marks. I hate those people. Test marks are not suppose to be compared, if you are those who get low marks all you will feel is depression.

I always think that tests and its results should be confidential, actually abolishing tests in the first place is better. Do not compare results, as you are not competing among your classmates, but against yourself; to better yourself. So what if you are top? What does that give you other than being a teacher's pet?

Tests and results can determine what kind of friends you are suppose to be allocated to. Have you ever notice the clever people with clever people and the slackers with the slackers? This intend doesn't do any good to those slackers who want to study. Or the clever people cannot be associated or even accepted by the slackers as friends.

After all, this is my say through my experience. Its up to you to take it or not.
