Today is the judging of the Furniture Design Award at Singapore EXPO.

The day started out when I sent my gal to work.

Then, from there, I made my way to EXPO.

I arrived at the place at 9am. All I saw was this. What I did today was to give some of my classmates a call(I know that they are at work) and tell them about the FDA(Furniture Design Award). It felt as though I am disturbing them, but they have to know about it. I called Theirry, but he was in Malaysia at that time(I know as he called me back to tell me). I thought that he would come down and take a look here.

Here is the Naked Chair.

The judges(one of them is Naoto Fukasawa) were listening to all the presentations by the designers who took part and got to the finals(here).

After the judges had listened to all the presentations, they went to have lunch and discuss about who should be the winner. I just walk around the place and took some pictures.

There were the students category, the young designers category and the one that my internship company joined is the open category.

Soon, we had out lunch set up like a buffet.

Then, the announcement of the winners. I do not know why, but I was the one feeling nervous for Outofstock(my internship company). All was well when we were announced the winners of the open category. I look at Gabriel and it seems that he does not feel too excited about it.

Anyways, one of the finalist were Honfay and Cici.

Had to stay there for a while so that the press could take pictures for the newspaper.

Then, we were waiting for the designers cocktail. The time was 3pm, and the cocktail is at 7pm. I called my sister early in the morning to pass me my camera, so when I was at Burger King with them having lunch I was waiting for her to arrive. Soon she came and gave me my camera.

Then, we spent about half an hour to do some sketching work. Came out with very interesting ideas. After awhile, we head to Gabriel's house by cab. Over there, I did some development on the idea. At 7pm, took the car and get Wendy and got to the EXPO again.

At EXPO, I recognise a face there. Edwin was there! Talked to him and stuff. I talked and network with other designers there too. Wendy asked Edwin weather Singapore Polytechnic could sponsor some expenses for me to go Milan with them. Edwin said that it was possible and he would help. Wendy said that she would ask Design Singapore to come up with the rest of the fees. If I am able to go there, I would be estatic!
The night was spent talking and interacting and of course getting feedback by great designers like Naoto Fukasawa.

At around 9+, everything ended. Since my gal was working at Changi for her CCA(Changi youth ambassador), I waited for her at EXPO until her work ends. When her work ends, we met at EXPO's platform and went home together. Reached home at around midnight.
