Episode: FOB concert!!
Tuesday, February 10, 2009

As I had said, I was looking forward for today. Fall Out Boy concert at the indoor stadium. Well, in the morning, I got up and took a passport picture at a shop and then post it with some forms. It was to make a new passport, as mine had expired.

Anyways, I had the tickets in hand. The tickets cost $101 each.

Got ready.

And when my sister finished her class, I met her at Dover and head off to Kallang. By the time, it was around 3+pm almost 4pm. Then, we took a cab to the indoor stadium as we had no idea on where the place was, only that it was near the national stadium. The cab cost us $4.80. This was my first visit to the indoor stadium.

Going to a concert was also my first time. Then, when we arrived at the place, we redeemed the Singapore edition of Folie a deux( Fall Out Boy's new album). What was different was that it had only 13 songs and had nothing else in it.(No poster, nothing) Since we had three tickets, we redeemed three. One of the ticket and the CD was given to my sister's friend as he paid for it and the other two we keep.

We queued from 4+pm. From the crowd, we saw alot of secondary school students.

Only at around 6pm, the crowd came. There were more than one queing line. Met up with Shah and Yikai who was with his gal, Lisa.

Three of us aniticipating the start of the concert in line.

We only get to get in at 7.30pm.

I would like to thank my sister for getting the tickets in the first place. Thank you!!

That was the crowd. There were more to come.

The opening act was by Hey Monday. The vocals were awesome! The band played well, but I was like 'Who are you?'. The crowed was singing along, and I was just keeping quite and bopping my head.

Hey Monday performed for 45 minutes and left. Let me say about the experience there. My sister and myself were at the front row center. The bad thing was people from behind kept pushing us to get our places. My sister and I was like a solid force that kept them from getting our places. They were presistant, but we just held our place. There was this RI idiot together with his idiotic friend who has nothing else to do except for pushing people. My sister and I got fed up about him. I pity a couple there, they simply left the place after a while.

My sister complained about him and shouted at his face. As for me, I simply knocked his head twice, but I guess he did not notice it. It felt good though. People are jumping, pushing, grabbing, shouting and many more. So, everybody there was like grinding one another. But seriously, the RI kids were the bad experience. Lots of people's belongings fell on the floor. I remember picking up somebody's shoe. There were a few who crowd surf.

At 9pm after the curtains for Fall Out Boy were raised, the concert really begins.

Fall Out Boy Rocked the stage!!

They performed songs like:

1) Dance Dance
2) Thnks for the Mmrs
3) I don't care
4) Thriller
5) Beat it
6) America's sweetheart
7) Amerian boy
8) Disloyal Order Of Water Buffaloes
9) This ain't a scene its an arm's race
10) Saturday
11) Grand Theft Autumn
12) Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown
13) A little sixteen candles a little more touch me
14) Sugar we're going down

I guess that is all. Well, that was all that I could remember. They did it all within hour or so. I sang along to all the songs that they performed. Well, I screamed of course. I even lost part of my voice due to the intense screaming. Yeah!!

While performing, there were awesome stuff they did on stage. They did flips, Pete lay flat on the stage floor and played his guitar. Pete did crazy stuff like jumping into the crowd. When he did that, everybody seems to topple(unable to support him because he was diving into a bunch of immature youngters) and everybody seems to start to crowd around him. I myself, almost lost my balance and fell. The coolest part was when Patrick danced to Dance Dance, and of course the guitar with lights.( the whole guitar seemed to be filled with white LED lights, and when the lights went out, their guitar was the one lighting up the stage)

When it endedwhat we were left with are aching legs, arms, messy hair, and sweaty shirts(mostly not our sweat). My whole shirt was wet. Even running for 2.4km do not leave me like this. These are the crazy us.

Suggestions for going to a concert and having the free standing tickets:

1) you have to be tall
2) wear stuff that you would probably throw the next day
3) need to have stamina
4) strong arms
5) strong legs
6) rock solid body
7) do not keep your stuff at your back pocket
8) do not wear your spectacles
9) always ready to get molested
10) do not bring your bag (keep it in a locker)

At around 10+, the place cleared up. All the guitar picks thrown to the crowd was taken, as well as drum sticks.

The concert was really awesome awesome awesome awesome!!! I am thrilled that I had my first concert and it was Fall Out Boy. Before going home, we walked to Kallang MRT and had some refreshments. With all that singing and screaming, it left us really thirsty. Head home and got home at midnight. All the way home, we can't stop talking about the concert. It was a very fitting end to all the hard work and sacrifices that I had made during my assignments.
