Episode: long day
Thursday, November 6, 2008

It truly was a long day. Got to school at around 9am. We had Carl Liu's workshop again.

We were given a homework to do yesterday. The homework was to draw out a story line about time machine. Today was submission day. So, when we got to the studio, we pinned up all our drawings on the wall. I think there is a total of 42 drawings.

The critique session began. One person took about 10 minutes or so. The class was not that responsive when it comes to giving comments.

As the day went on, the class did give comments. When it was 12, we got bored, so there was an hours break.

I went to KFC to get my food. The queue was very long. It really tested my patience. After around 20 minutes, I finally got to order my food. I took away a two piece chicken meal. The chicken I got was freshly cooked.

There was only around 15 minutes left to my break. I went in the lecture room to eat. I ate alone. Soon, the workshop restarted. I was still eating. Then my lecturer came to close the door as the room next to the place that I was eating was very noisy. I gave a smile to my lecturer, but he seems really upset about something and did not respond to my smile. He was like that for the whole day. I personally think that he was like that because we did not give a good impression to our guest, Carl Liu. Some of us came late for class, create a lot of noise when given 10 minutes break and maybe did not pay attention to the lecture that was given.

Anyways, soon, it was my turn. My story is about this young inventor and his new invention the time glove. The story goes this way, Aidie was on the way home to complete his invention when he suddenly felt that someone was looking at him. So, he turned to see who it was. He thought that he saw himself, but he just ignored and walked back to his work place. When he completed the time glove, he tested it out.

Aidie saw his past self walking down a path. The path had a hole in front of him. Aidie did not recall that he had to jump over a hole on the way to his work place. So, Aidie took planks of wood to cover it. As his past self stepped on the wooden planks, his past self turned around. Aidie hid quickly. He was relieved that his past self did not see him.

Then, he tested the time glove again, but this time to the future. As he got to the future, someone was expecting for him to arrive. That person was the future Aidie. The future Aidie told Aidie that he should not be here and told his computer to send Aidie back to the present. Aidie got a glance of his future. He was to be a famous inventor and has his own lab.

Out of all the story lines, I enjoyed Syafiq's one. To me his was the best. The sketching was great, as well as the story. The time machine was fantastic too.

A future comic artist..maybe?

Everybody presented their work. Just imagine how long the day was. If one person take 10 minutes, how about 42?

He wrapped the day off by showing us some of his classmate's work. He said, if one wants to be good at designing, he or she has to go the extra mile and take a look at higher standard design and try and do better that what they are doing.

Carl Liu is an awesome guy. Took a photo with him. Nice pose man! Glenn get out of the way....before I kick your A$s.

That was the end of the workshop for the day. Then, the tickets of the SP Star was sold in my class. The tickets were left to Paul and those who want to buy it, you can buy it from him at a price of $2. I would be one of the contestants on that day. So, so support me!
