Episode: Design workshop by Carl Liu

It was an awesome thing that we got Carl Liu to conduct a workshop with us. He is known to be one of those well known designers. To have him sharing his knowledge with us was great. Went to school with my gal. I reached the class at around 9+. My classmates saved the front seat for me. Thanks guys!

At first, he basically shared with us his background. Though it was quite long, it was interesting.

After that, we got an hour break. Went for lunch with my classmates. We brought the food back to the studio to eat.

It was around almost 1pm. Carl Liu was about to teach us how to do basic sketching, when my gal called me up. She needed the powerpoint slide for our GEMs persentation later.

While everybody was doing some warm up, I rushed out to my GEMs class, gave my gal my thumb drive, marked my attendance and left.

Then, it when I got back, it was sketching time. Basically, we did what we did when we were in year 1. We drew as many straight lines without ruler. Then, we drew more straight lines but with a starting point trying to connect to the ending point. After that, we drew circles, ellipses and boxes.

Then, it was time that 'The master' did his demo. It took him quite sometime to come out with the final drawing, but it was very detailed and very nice. He even showed us his drawing portfolio.

As I was looking at him doing his magic, I was looking at the watch. It was already past 3.30pm. I am suppose to have the SP Star meeting. At around 3+ almost 4, the SP Star people called me asking if I am coming for the meeting. At 4, the workshop ended.

I rushed to Meet 1 @ Moberly. When I came, it seems that everyone was already there and they have started the meeting. One thing that I was shocked to know was that I had to pick and sing during one song for the rehearsals this coming Friday. Today was Wednesday and they need the minus one by Friday. I do not know if I have the time to choose a suitable song for me to sing, memorize the lyrics or even find the minus one on time.



The meeting was quite quick. So, I headed down to the hall to have a glance at my CCA. It seems that the whole hall was used by the EEE sports day. My teammates were there, but told me to meet at Bukit Batok at around 8pm for training. So, I went home.


At around 8pm, I was searching for the place. I look here and there. My teammate told me that it was near a mosque, so I did check all around. I tried calling him around 20 times, he did not pick up. By that time, I was frustrated. In the end, after searching high and low for the training venue, I finally arrive at the place.

Training was alright. After that, I went home.


Reach home at around 11+. I ate, I took a bath, blogged and now, it is midnight. I should draw out the homework that Carl Liu gave us. So, until then, it goodbye.
