Well, you can guess from the title of this entry. Yup, I stayed at home the whole day. It all started when I woke up as early as 8.30am to get ready to register for my GEMs. I was using Mozilla. Then, I was at SAS at exactly at the allocated time which was at 9am. I tried and tried to register to etiquette and professional image, but was unable to. At that time there was only one seat left, I guess that that guy who got that one seat was faster than me. After 30minutes, my first time slot was done and dusted. I had to wait until 9pm for the next time slot to register. I did, but in the mean time, I got up did some research, watch TV and all that crap. Watched Camp Rock that time, and it was alright. When it was at 9pm, I was already online. Refused to eat until I had registered for the GEMs I wanted. I was using Mozilla at that time, and when I took a look at the seats available for the GEMs I wanted, there was none left. So, I chose my second choice, which was Introduction to human resource pratices. Even there was four seats left, I could not take any even after refreshing the page every time I was unable to get. So, I closed my Mozilla, and switched to Internet Explorer. With IE, there was still 4 seats left, I clicked on it and finally I got it. Now I realise that you can only use IE to register. Well, I should have done it earlier, if not I could have gotten my first choice. Well, I think that it is very ineffective that SP is doing this. It really makes people rush for the GEMs that they want. This is SO Singaporean. Very Kiasu. A better solution should arise. Maybe priority should be given to those who ace their previous GEMs. I do believe that those student who really ace their GEMs, should be rewarded in this manner, at least. Well, the idea of having GEMs is actually great. It really sets SP apart from the other Polytechnics in Singapore. It shows that SP students have that extra edge. GO SP! =) Aidie blogged @ 10:39 AM |
