Episode: a good rest earned
Wednesday, August 20, 2008

Got out of bed at 9.45. I was suppose to meet my group members at Dhobby Ghaut at 10, so that we could go to Peace Centre and print our A2 boards. In the end, I reach there at around 10.40. I am sorry that I am late. Anyways, I was walking towards the place, and my group members we on the way back with the boards printed. It looks very awesome!

Then, we went to Plaza Singapura Daiso to look for materials for our CMF boards. I looked for screen protector to finish off my communication device. In the end we got what we wanted.

Carolyn still have not find one of her materials for the board, so when we were on the way to the food court there, we were also looking for that last material. Soon, we arrived at the food court, they had their food and I had mine. Theirs were much much more presentable and looked yummy, but mine was simple. It was still nice. At that time, I brought only $12 in my wallet. After spending $2 on the screen protector, I was left with $10 and I still have not paid for today's expenses on the boards and the materials from Daiso. If I count that in, I have to pay my group members a total of $9.50 more. If I paid them, I would be left with 50cents. What could I eat with 50cents?So, they ask to pay them some other day.

Then, after eating, we went to Bugis by train and made our way to Fancy paper. My group members wanted to buy some paper for their individual assignments. The shop was awesome! There was a lot of different kinds of paper available there.

After that, Carolyn was still looking for the material, so we walked around Bugis and landed at this shop. The shop is called action city, sell plenty of cool stuff. One of the things that captured our attention was the fake bread. It looks, feels and smells like a real bread, but the only thing is that it cannot be eaten. The way they simulate the bread was to a point that it was very real, especially the texture. Its cool man.

Soon enough, she found her material that she needed. Then, we made our way to school to complete our work one and for all. By then it was around 2pm. We got the the workshop and cut out some small small stuff, I cut out my communication device's display and finished it by pasting the screen protector that I bought earlier this morning. Our lecturer wrote this on the white board. It says,"Today's menu. We close at 6pm". It was hilarious. Since the assignment that we were doing was all about food, he wrote that. I guess he was also tired of staying everyday up until late night to help us with our model making and consultations.

At around that time, my group members went up to the studio and took some things. When they came back to the workshop they reported that they received sarcastic comments. To the rest of my classmates eyes, they thought that we already completed all our works and when they saw my group members come to the studio in the afternoon, they thought we are showing attitude since we completed it.

I mean, what can we do? We already sacrificed our time, we already organise and do our work, stayed in school until late and even did our work when we reach home, sacrificing our sleep. What can we do if we really finished our work?

Anyways, I finished doing my communication device. I am so happy to see the final piece. It is exactly the size and shape that I had imagined and drawn it to be.

Soon, our group discreetly went up to the studio and did up our final touches to our work. This was because we do not want the rest to really know that we had done our work and not to think that we are arrogant.

The situation in our studio is a havoc. I can see that the place is in a mess. Materials, glue, blue foams and even food can be found in almost every table. I took a picture of its state now. Ignore the guy smiling on the left.

There is this shelve in our studio where we display our works. So far, the communication device shelve is filled with Ivan's and mine. I do not know about the rest. I guess the rest want to keep their communication device a secret, or maybe they have not even cut out their piece.

Let me show you Ivan's communication device. To me, his device looks flawless. The finishing coat of paint is nice, the screen looks like real and the colour is really striking. This is the front view.

Here is the back view. Now, this is my display for my communication device. It is in a PSP shape with a support at its back. There is also support for the device itself to rest on it. On the top right corner I pasted my logo , which is made out of Alluminium foil.

It looks better with the display stand on. It looks very presentatble.

Before we go home at around 7pm, we did up our CMF boards. Since we already bought the A2 board and the materials, we simply paste the printed piece and the materials on it, and we are done. Completely done. Yes, we finished our assignment. Holiday starts today. Woohoo! Now, we rest for four days before the actual presentation.

Again, we are not arrogant, we simply follow our schedule. We planned to finish today, and we did. The way we planned was put to perfection. Every group member had tasks to do, and we leave no time wasted. So, optimising time is important, so it somehow adds extra arms to our body and do lots of things at the same time.

Then again, I would like to thank my group members for being very cooperative. We do gel well together and I believe that so far in the time in this course, this group that I have is the best. I have to admit. For all our sacrifices, we are rewarded with a few days of rest. We do deserve it.
