Episode: 50+ workshop day two
Tuesday, June 17, 2008

I got up and made my way to school. Ready for the second day of the workshop, I came and had breakfast there. Soon, Thomas (one of the lecturers from Chicago) and myself went to do an interview of a 50+ at her house. It was at Ang Mo Kio.

When we reached there, she invited us in her humble home. It was a two room flat. Thought it was small, it was nice. After a while, we started on the interview, followed by taking pictures of her home. I find a pattern that she likes plants. As there were plants on the corridor, in her house and even in the bathroom.

Then, we made our way back to school. Thomas had to leave for awhile for something and I had to escort her to the design studio. We were early, so nobody was there to open the door at the studio. I talked to her, and she gave me a lot of advice in life. She have a son who got married straight after his National Service. She advice me not to settle in too fast like her son, and enjoy life first. But she also mentioned that it is up to the individual. She is quite a cool person. I enjoyed having a conversation with her.

Soon, someone did came and opened the door to the studio. We went in and since we were the first to arrive, the studio was empty. The rest of the 50+ and my classmates went to China Town, doing observations there. They took pictures and recorded some interviews.

When all came back, we were given a brief on what to do next.

We were suppose to make a war room. With that post-its that the school has provided us, we started doing it. Before that, everybody who took pictures had to upload them into the PC and print it out. With lots of paper, ink and post-its, I wonder how much is the cost of this workshop.

These were the things we need to follow when pasting the post-its.

My group did ok for the War room. It was messy, which is good.

After we had done with the War room, everybody was dismissed. But some of us did'nt. We continued doing and improving on the War room. Ivan, without all his team members stayed back to do the War room by himself. I waited for him, and then we went home together. Reached home at around 7.
