Episode: The Quest, finding nEbO and lots of firsts

Up at 5+ and got out of the house at 6+. I made my way towards the Cathay for The Quest, finding nEbO. When I was there, this was the scene.


I never been to the Cathay this early. This was my 1st time. Soon, my team members come. We sat down and our group leader, Paul, went to get our shirts and our route direction, the passport.

Over there, I saw Fadi, my takraw team member and Kasbani's brother. They entered the race as well. Before we begin the race, Sheik Haiqal was there as the emcee and brief us about the rules a bit and also, the nEbO cheer. By then, everybody wore their nEbO shirts. Oh, and Shah was cam-whoring, again..


Well, there was this stupid group that went off before the flag off. All of us gathered there just look at them get disqualified. Well, the winner of the race is going to win 10K and hand phones and other cool stuff. So, that group just did the dumbest move of all.

Off to our 1st chechpoint. The youth park. We had to answer questions and well as do a task. The questions were simple, and the task was to guess how much this group of things cost. We guessed it to be $8.50.


After which, we took the bus to our next checkpoint. It was at the Botanic Gardens. It was my 1st time entering the place. To get to the checkpoint, we had to walk to the other end of the place. To make things worst, the task was to find certain plants and sketch them in the book. We spent a lot of time there. Just walking there took 20 minutes or so. To do the task took us more time. Shah's group had that checkpoint as their 1st one. Poor things. In the end, we decided to just sketch anyhow and leave the place to go to the next checkpoint.


That checkpoint left us feeling tired. The walk back to the main entrance was even more tiring. Shah's group 2nd checkpoint was the same as my group's 3rd checkpoint. So, we decided to join up and go there together as one big group. While waiting for the bus to the next checkpoint, we bought ice-cream and ate there. Well, it was more ice than ice-cream, as it was very hard.

We aboard the bus soon after. To make things worse, it rained when we were on the bus towards the next checkpoint. Shah's group decided to quit. I can understand, due to their heavy 1st checkpoint and the rain just did not help them.

We were given 5 hours from the starting time which was at 10, before the checkpoint all close down. It was around 12+ when we reach Fort Canning park. It was my 1st time going there. Our task there was to skip rope while sing and the skipper had to do some actions. I did not like the game master, he was very cruel. All the other groups were given many chances, but mine only one try. Ivan tripped on the 1st and only try, so we did not get points.


Next, off to our 4th checkpoint. It was at Paya Lebar's Buzz. There, we had to sing a 2 minute song to a listening passerby. This time, the game master was from SP also, so he gave us chance and told to sing to us. We sang our NTUC song with the tunes from apologise by One Republic. It was funny, and we had full points for it.


Next, off to Changi Village. We took the train to Tampines and then took the bus there. When we reach the place, our 5th checkpoint was right in front of us, but my eyes was caught by the glass bottled Coca-cola..hehe. It was nice. Anyways, we reached our 5th checkpoint at 2.57. It closes at 3. We just made it. The task was the same as the 1st checkpoint. Another thing, my hand phone battery died after this last picture. So, I cannot take anymore pictures after that. We just made a move to the end point which was at downtown east.


We reached the end point at 4. They were already giving out the prizes for those who come in the top 15. In the end, we just grab our goodie bags, and while they announce the winners and the lucky draws, we took a look inside the bag. There was magazines, drinks, buns and vouchers. The vouchers had a few that was due today. It was quite stupid to get the voucher today and some of it due today. They were, one free entry to Escape theme park and the other, free donut at DippinDonut. Ayu left before we go eat. Shi Hui left when we were eating. Paul, after we eat. Nice. So, Ivan and myself went Escape together. It was my 1st time..hehe.

We rode the viking. I rode it before at Genting Highlands. But even that, truthfully, I was nervous to get in. I act cool, but inside my mind, I kept replying the moment I rode it at Genting Highlands. We took it, in the end it was not that bad. It was just like a giant swing. The funny thing was, Ivan felt like nothing, I guess it was due to the time he rode this ride 40+ times already. The small boy beside Ivan, was even funnier. His expression was priceless. The girls at the back was shouting like mad, and he was the complete opposite. He had no, and I repeat, no expression at all..haha. Before going out of Escape, Ivan and myself took the ferries wheel. I know, we look like gays on a date. But, I truthfully, I was not ready to go to the big rides..hehe.

After that, we used the other free voucher that dues today. It was the donut one. We went to the E!Hub, a new mall set up near to down town east. That time I went there, it was still under construction. Guess what? Yup, it was my 1st time visiting the mall. Got our donuts, and went back home. All the way home, we chat and chat until Ivan had to alight. Since my hand phone battery had died, to keep myself company was the magazine inside the goodie bag. It was Seventeen magazine.

Got home at 8.30. I bathed and ate before blogging here. Well, to sum up today, it was very fun and there was a lot of 1st time experience..hehe.
