Episode: almost there

School was another day to complete our works. All of it would be due this coming Monday. In the morning, I printed out the screen for my communication device. Then, I head down to the workshop. We always do our work in the workshop in this small room. Today, it seem that only my group spends the whole day there.

Did up the A2 boards, confirm the CMF boards and we also completed out powerpoint slides to be presented on that day. We have a few ideas on how to present our concept when it is our turn to do so.

There was this time when my group members went for lunch and as usual I did not eat, I went down to do my communication device. I was trying to melt the acrylic screen to the desired shape for my communication device. Since I have no mould to get the desired curve to my screen, so after I heated the acrylic, I placed and pressed it onto my communication device's curved surface. It turned out that heated acrylic and spray paint do not get along. The pieces got stuck together. When I removed it, it tears out the paint job that I did on my communication device. Not only that, when I tried sanding the delicate piece of acrylic using the sanding machine, it got out of control and was sucked in the dust vacuum.

It left me frustrated as I not only have to tend to my communication device, but to also make a new screen. There were works given to my group members at that time, but I was too frustrated with my communication device, I set aside their works until I settled with my communication device.

After an hour or so, I did go back to my group. I am sorry if I did not listen to you guys at that time. Hope you guys understand why I was like that. Soon, I did up the decal for the actual model. It is not in a cylindrical shape, so I cannot simply paste the decal around it. What I had to do took me some time. I had to cut out piece by piece of the decal, soak it in water and then after that only I can paste it on the model.

I had to do four decals on the four models.

In the end, it looks great!

Then at one moment, Rui Hon told my group to send a representative to see our lecturer about some changes to our layout for the packaging design. We already did up the layout and pasted it on our acrylic pieces. So, anything that she says or suggest seems a little bit too late.

Our group ended the day after completing the powerpoint presentation and the A2 boards. After that, we went to McDonald's. By that time, it was around 8pm. It was my first time to see so many students there at around this time. I guess they had just finished one of their tests and was looking for something to eat. It was packed also because it was the only supply of food at night.

After eating, I got home. Reached home at 9, and by 9.30 I was on the way to Ali's place. My intention was to have him spray a piece of my communication device Grey, while I paste the graphics on the packaging. I forgot to bring the graphics, but I brought along the packaging. Anyways, from 10 to 11, I had that piece sprayed.

Head home, and did up the packaging design, pasting it onto the packaging. Then, I got u to my room, and looked at my communication device. I was still not satisfied with the Alluminium foil border around it, so I removed it.Then, my brilliant brain thought of a way. In the end, I took a new piece of Alluminium foil and a piece of paper and carefully paste it on each other. With this, I have one side that could mark out the shape that I wanted and the Alluminium foil would not be that easy to get crushed and it was much thicker and stronger.

After marking out, I cut it out and in the end I pasted it. It looks much much better this time. Not forgetting about the stand that my group members ask me to do, I did it at around 2am, and only slept after that.

I am so excited to have almost completed all our assignments. It was exactly one week on a Tuesday that we discussed about doing all of this. After doing work day and night, at studio, at workshop and also at home, we are only left with just printing the boards. I can hardly believe that we did all of this in one week, and with around five days to spare. Awesome! Great work you guys!
